My favorite would be ramen, but I don't consider it as streeet food.
So, since it is summer I will join Maria and go for the soft ice cream, or the cold blended fruit drinks.

I dunno if this would be considered "street" food but I love Hokkaido soft-serve! I had it on my trip to Japan last month and it's like no other soft-serve ice cream. It's super creamy, silky and delicious!

I'm not sure if it's really street food, but it is in a way. While walking down the street I simply can't deny a crepe filled with delicious stuff. Those stands are everywhere too. I also love the takoyaki.

If we are talking straight up streetfood, then it has to be the baked yams during the cold days in Kyoto.

If it is Matsuri food, nothing beats out fresh off the hotplate yakisoba.
