What’s your favorite Japanese street food?
I am going to do a survey on how many people actually read this food blog by asking you what your favorite street food is. :) Just leave them at the comment section and I’ll do the tabulation and come up with a table for next post.
I think if I live in Japan, I wouldn’t have enough of its yakitori. So that’s 1 for Yakitori! :)

There is a vendor right outside Hachioji station that makes fresh melon pan. Best ever!

If we are talking straight up streetfood, then it has to be the baked yams during the cold days in Kyoto.
If it is Matsuri food, nothing beats out fresh off the hotplate yakisoba.

I’m not sure if it’s really street food, but it is in a way. While walking down the street I simply can’t deny a crepe filled with delicious stuff. Those stands are everywhere too. I also love the takoyaki.

difficult, yakitori is indeed a stand i have difficulty passing by without getting at least 1 …. gotta love this quick snack
ramen especially in winter.
Next time i’m in Japan i hope i will be able to taste :
* Dango, just looks delicious snack
* Sembei
* Chocolate coated Banana ! (or kids only ?)

I dunno if this would be considered “street” food but I love Hokkaido soft-serve! I had it on my trip to Japan last month and it’s like no other soft-serve ice cream. It’s super creamy, silky and delicious!

I love Ramen especially with prok in it!
It is my favorite food of all time and you can put 2 for Yakitori
because i love that too!

My favorite would be ramen, but I don’t consider it as streeet food.
So, since it is summer I will join Maria and go for the soft ice cream, or the cold blended fruit drinks.
